Ms. Elston has been a licensed Indiana Attorney since 1984. After serving as an FBI Special Agent in the mid-eighties, Ms. Elston returned to Indiana to begin her law practice. Ms. Elston grew up on a Southern Indiana farm and has lived in Jeffersonville, Indiana for over 30 years. Ms. Elston was a Clark County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for 10 1/2 years and has been a Clark County Public Defender for 8 years. She has tried over thirty criminal and civil cases in front of a jury in addition to countless hearings and bench trials before a Judge. She has also filed numerous briefs with the Indiana Court of Appeals of which 9 are published opinions.
Ms. Elston enjoys practicing family law, and is especially interested in divorce cases. Having successfully raised two boys as a divorced parent, and having been raised by divorced parents herself, Ms. Elston considers herself an expert on the subject of divorce and how to do it without damaging your children. Her experience as a Juvenile Prosecutor gave her an up-close view of the importance of co-parenting your children. Having practiced family law for over 20 years of her career, Ms. Elston is qualified to assist you in obtaining the best results for you and your family.
