I have been a licensed Indiana Attorney since 1984. After serving as an FBI Special Agent in the mid-eighties, I returned to Indiana to begin my law practice. I grew up on a Southern Indiana farm and have lived in Jeffersonville, Indiana for the last 25 years. I was a Clark County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for 10 1/2 years and a Clark County Public Defender for 7 1/2 years. I have tried over thirty criminal and civil cases in front of a jury in addition to countless hearings and bench trials before a Judge. I have filed numerous briefs with the Indiana Court of Appeals of which 9 are published opinions.
My law practice is a general law practice, similar to what you have come to expect from your family doctor. I want to be your family lawyer. I want to offer people a trusted and familiar place they can come to get advice and solve their legal problems. I want you to become familiar with my staff and them with you. If you have questions about a legal issue you have or do not understand, you can consult with me, and if I cannot answer your question or solve your problem, I will refer you to someone who can. Just like doctors, there are lawyers who concentrate their law practice in one or two fields and specialize in these areas. I will not hesitate to refer you to such an attorney, if that is what is in your best interests.
I enjoy practicing family law, and am especially interested in divorce cases. Having successfully raised two boys as a divorced mother, and having been raised by divorced parents myself, I consider myself an expert on the subject of divorce and how to do it without damaging your children. I obviously have vast experience in criminal law and know my way around a courtroom. My passion, as I become an older attorney, is to assist fellow baby boomers in preparing for retirement and advanced aging by helping them prepare Wills, Trusts, Health Care Directives and Powers of Attorney. Potential problems can be avoided with proper preparation and I would like to assist you with peace of mind.
I look forward to building a long term relationship with you and your family.
